Data Security

Client data protection is built into the VGI workflow. We safeguard aerial imagery, GIS files, inspection reports, project records, and client information through secure storage practices, controlled access, and encryption-supported data handling, including AES-256 encryption where applicable.

AES-256 is a widely used advanced encryption standard that helps protect digital information by converting files and data into unreadable code unless accessed through authorized systems. In simple terms, it adds a strong layer of protection to help prevent unauthorized access to sensitive project information.

Clients do not need to manually obtain AES-256 encryption. AES-256 is commonly built into secure cloud storage, encrypted drives, and protected file-sharing platforms. When sharing project information with VGI, clients are encouraged to use secure file-sharing methods, avoid public links, limit access to authorized users, and use password protection when appropriate.

Our goal is simple: keep client data organized, protected, and accessible only to authorized users.
