The final imagery provides a clear, current view of pavement, striping, accessible-space markings, islands, curbs, sidewalks, and surrounding context. Deliverables were prepared for visual documentation, planning support, and workflow illustration.

Silver Lake Regional Park — Aerial Mapping Showcase
A single overhead map brings the lake, shoreline, woodland, trails, roads, and parking areas into context. This independent demonstration shows how aerial mapping can support site orientation, visual records, and planning discussions.
Capture and deliverable
The project contains 484 photographs, with 461 cameras in the main aligned component, processed in Agisoft Metashape. The boundary-clipped GeoTIFF measures 28,780 × 28,128 pixels at approximately 2.79 cm/pixel in WGS 84 / UTM zone 18N. The image shown is a web preview.
Quality and scope
Review covered water coverage, shoreline detail, image continuity, and the usable capture footprint. The presentation boundary excludes distorted outer imagery and stray patches. Pixel spacing describes image resolution; positional accuracy has not been independently verified.
Independent training demonstration, not commissioned or endorsed by the park. This example covers an orthomosaic, with no 3D deliverable, and does not provide land surveying, engineering certification, legal property boundaries, or lakebed measurements.

Silver Lake Park: From Aerial Imagery to an Editable Site Map
VGI extended the aerial mapping study in QGIS to show how selected water margins, access roads, visible paths, and paved areas connect. The editable map supports site orientation, visual documentation, and planning discussions. Select the map above to enlarge it.
What the map includes
The GeoPackage contains three water polygons, three road lines, eleven selected path lines, the main parking area, a separate dam-protection surface, and three contextual landmark markers. Feature names, sources, methods, and review status accompany the layers. The approximate picnic/grill marker comes from a site observation; this is a working map rather than a complete park inventory.
Review and future comparison
The source orthomosaic retains approximately 2.79 cm pixel spacing in WGS 84 / UTM zone 18N. Geometry and imagery checks found no transparent pixels in the tested main-lake interior; a small northern tree-canopy gap remains documented. The A3 exhibit includes a legend, scale, north arrow, labels, and source notes.
The dated 2026 baseline can support future comparison after repeat capture and alignment checks on stable ground features.
Scope: Independent demonstration. Features are generalized interpretations, routes are incomplete, and obscured edges require review. Pixel spacing does not establish survey accuracy. The coverage outline is not a property boundary.
